Space Invaders & Nik Turner

"According to their slogan „free improvised music to fly and travel into space“, the Space Invaders considered their cooperation with the Master of Space Sax, the mighty Thunder Rider Nik Turner (formerly Hawkwind), to be the ideal symbiosis. These bonds were knit at the 6. Psychedelic Network Festival. The result has now been released on this unique record called ""Sonic Noise Opera"". But beyond just playing free improvised music, the Space Invaders cherished Nik Turner’s lifetime achievement by playing two cover versions of songs by Hawkwind and Inner City Unit, before they took off towards the orbit with their spacy, bubbling and weird improvisations. For the design of the cover of this live record the band succeeded in getting the ingenious artist Sergey Skachkov from Moscow on board."
